The approximately 25-minute ferry ride to Hailuoto is perfect for taking first photos and offers initial glimpses of the unique coastal landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon arrival on the island, after a brief transfer, we\u2019ll begin our hike along the traces of the last Ice Age. Along the Hyyp\u00e4nm\u00e4ki esker \u2013 the highest and oldest elevation in Hailuoto \u2013 you\u2019ll enjoy a 5 km tour through ancient pine forests with a beautiful lichen-covered forest floor. Together with your guide, you\u2019ll explore the geology and nature of the region and also learn about the darker aspects of Hailuoto’s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the hike, we\u2019ll head to the island’s western end, Marjaniemi. Here, you\u2019ll dive into the island\u2019s maritime history with a walk through the pilot station, to the lighthouse, and through the idyllic fishing village. You\u2019ll then have the option to stroll along the beautiful sandy beach, take a refreshing dip in the Baltic Sea, or visit a restaurant, caf\u00e9, or the local brewery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
